Apartment Interior & Exterior

Bicycles

Bicycles may be stored in bike racks, in front of your apartment on the pre-installed bike hooks, or inside apartments. Do not lock bikes on trees, signs, rails, gates, fences, etc. If left outdoors, lock your bicycle at all times. All bikes or bike parts left unattended, unlocked, or non-operational in public areas or public racks may be considered abandoned and confiscated. Do not leave bikes in public areas, grass walkways, etc. Colorado State University Police Department requires all bicycles to be registered. Follow this link to register your bike online.

The use, possession, or storage of recreational e-bikes, e-boards, and e-scooters and similar devices is prohibited inside all buildings on campus, including apartment patios. This policy applies to both adult and children’s bikes.

Furniture

All units in Aggie Village and International House are fully furnished, and residents do not have the option to request furniture options in these unit types.

Aggie Village Family and University Village 1500, 1600, and 1700 apartments are unfurnished. Applicants who are offered and accept an assignment in these apartment communities will need to arrange to get the furniture of their choosing. Various services and stores sell or rent furniture.

CSU has partnered with CORT Furniture Rental as one option. CORT provides delivery and pick-up, straight to and from the apartment, and specializes in furniture rental services to college campuses. CORT student furniture rental packages can be viewed at this link.

Residents are not obligated to use CORT and can explore other purchasing or rental options that may be more suitable to their preferences and budget. Some of these include:

Entering an Apartment

When appropriate and practical, Housing & Dining Facilities staff will enter a resident’s apartment only when scheduled (often via work order or a standard cleaning schedule). If the resident would like to be present while this work is completed, the student should include this request in their work order submission and include the days and times they are available.

Additionally, the University reserves the right to enter the premises for periodic health and safety inspections, including but not limited to: fire and life safety inspections, cleanliness, maintenance/repair, and overall conditions of the apartment, or when an authorized agent of the University has a reasonable belief that:

a) an occupant may be physically harmed or endangered

b) damage is being done to University property

c) University policy, as stated in University publications, is being violated.

When appropriate, details of the planned inspections will be communicated to residents in advance. Failure of the resident to receive and/or acknowledge said communication shall not nullify the provided notification.

University Police may enter a student’s room under the following conditions:

  • With a warrant for the arrest of a resident of the room, or with a search warrant for the apartment itself.
  • With the consent or invitation of an occupant of the apartment.
  • To accompany Housing & Dining Services staff to protect their safety and that of the residents.
  • To continue an arrest that began outside the apartment.
  • When there are any reasonable grounds to believe that an occupant is in danger of bodily injury or is endangering someone else within the apartment.

Abandonment of Personal Property

If a resident leaves any personal property in the apartment after vacating, such property shall be deemed to have been abandoned in favor of the University. If the resident has not completely vacated the apartment by the date designated on the “Intent to Vacate Notice” and has not been granted an extension of the vacate date, the personal property remaining will be deemed abandoned in favor of the University. Residents will not be allowed to re-enter the apartment once vacated.  In either case, the resident shall be charged an improper check-out fee of $150 and any additional costs for cleaning, repair, removal of property, and other costs incurred to restore the apartment to the needed condition for a new resident. Abandoned materials will be subject to existing CSU disposal procedures. Unlicensed or inoperable automobiles left in the parking lots, at any time, will be towed away at the owner’s expense. All bikes or bike parts left unattended, unlocked, or non-operational in public areas or public racks may be considered abandoned.
