Dining Information
On-Campus meal plans will be deactivated Friday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m.

Leaving For Break
Before Leaving For Break:
- Clean and vacuum room(s)
- Empty trash and recycling
- Remove personal items from showers and vanities
- Move all items away from radiators
- Open radiators and set on low
- Set thermostat to 68°F/20°C
- Secure/latch windows and close drapes
- Turn all lights off
- Close and lock doors
Bicycles may be left in rooms
Padlocks are allowed on lockable drawer/cabinet
Consider securing valuable possessions or take them with you
E-scooters are prohibited inside our buildings and may not be stored inside during break periods because of the fire risk associated with the batteries
Online Check-Out Steps:
- Complete the 'Break Checkout Checklist'
- Contact your RA to schedule a pre-departure room check. If you opt to leave without an RA check, you accept possible charges for improper check-out and/or other concerns staff might identify
- You and your roommate(s) must each complete your own, individual break departure steps
- Submit the checkout form to confirm you have departed for break
- During break, staff will perform a required room safety check
Staying For Break (Dec 16 – Jan 6)
Anyone wishing to stay in the halls over break must apply by Wednesday, December 13
- Apply for Break Housing (select Break Housing under Residence Halls) Application opens November 28
- Prior approval required
- Daily rate of $40 (does not include meal swipes or RamCash)
- Residents of open halls may stay in current room(s) and approval is automatic. Confirmation will be sent the day after registration closes via your CSU email address
- Residents of closed halls may stay in temporary spaces in open halls. Notification of the temporary assignment will be sent the day after registration closes via your @rams.colostate.edu email address
- Rooms are assigned by priority as needed
- Halls are open with limited staff
- Staff will be on duty and available by phone
- Front desks are open 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. daily, except University holidays on which the desk is closed. On-call duty staff is available to assist.
Early Arrival (Jan 6-10)
Students needing to arrive early may do so from January 6 – January 10
- Prior approval required
- Apply through the Break Housing Application (select Break Housing under Residence Halls) no later than December 14. Application opens November 28
- Daily rate of $75 (includes $40 RamCash for dining)
Parking Over Break
Residents who wish to leave a vehicle parked on campus during this time should contact Parking & Transportation Services at (970) 491-7041 or parking@colostate.edu. More details about parking on campus are available at pts.colostate.edu/parking.
- Parking regulations are enforced as usual over break
- If you have a parking permit, you may park your car in the parking lot that matches your parking permit
- Be aware of lots and enforcement www.parking.colostate.edu
- Long-term parking prohibited on city and campus streets
- You will be responsible for incurred parking, towing and/or storage fines
