We can help if your device is getting a strict NAT type. If you are using the wired ethernet network, please call our help-desk at (970-491-4734) with your CSU id number, the MAC address of your gaming device, and the number of the ethernet port you are plugging into (it should be labeled above the port).
If you are using the wireless network, make sure you are connected to CSU-Guest. If you are still getting a strict NAT type in the CSU-guest WiFi please call our help desk and a technician will troubleshoot your issue.

I’m having trouble connecting to a university wireless network
Try turning your device off then back on again.
You can also try turning the WiFi off on your device then turn it back on again
Lastly, try “forgetting” the wireless network on your device. Once it has been removed from your device, try connecting to it again.
If you are still having issues, please contact our help desk at 970-491-4734
Can I run my own wireless network?
No. Devices that create their own wireless network interfere with the internet quality of neighbors. For example: routers, wireless printers, etc. Rouge wireless networks are subject to our networked devices policy.
I want more ethernet jacks! Can I use a switch?
Yes, as long as your switch is not a managed switch. A managed switch is a switch that allows you to edit the configuration. These interfere with the security of our network and will have their network access disabled. For example some good unmanaged switches are Netgear FS105v3 (5 ports, Fast Ethernet) and Netgear GS105v5 (5 ports, Gigabit).
I have a smart home device. How can I communicate with it?
If you have a smart device such as a Chromecast, Google Home, smart plug, lights, etc. and you are having trouble connecting to it or setting it up you can create a work order with our helpdesk. Please have the MAC address of the device and your EID in the work order so we can get your device working.
My device cannot connect to csu-eid.
Gaming consoles and streaming devices often cannot connect to WPA2-enterprise networks. If your device cannot connect to csu-eid, please connect to csu-guest wireless network. Gaming and streaming devices will automatically have any bandwidth and NAT restrictions removed. Please contact our help desk if you encounter any issues such as a strict NAT type, or speeds less than 5mbps.
