Residence Halls Close: Saturday, November 21 at 10 a.m.

Mail Delivery

Closed Halls: U.S. Mail will be held at the office and distributed when the office re-opens
Open Halls: U.S. Mail will be delivered as usual
DHL, FedEx, UPS: Do not deliver during break

*Open and closed halls are subject to change depending on the number of students who remain on campus.

Staying for Break

Anyone wishing to stay in the halls for the remainder of the semester must apply by Noon on Friday, November 6

  • Apply for Break Housing (select Break Housing under Residence Halls) application opens Monday, October 19
  • Prior approval required
  • Residents of open halls may stay in current room(s)
  • Residents of closed halls may stay in temporary spaces in open halls
  • Rooms are assigned by priority as needed
  • Halls are open with limited staff
  • Staff will be on duty and available by phone
  • Desk hours will be 7:00am-7:00pm daily, except University holidays, during which the desk will be closed

Dining Information

On-Campus meal plans for those not staying will be deactivated on Friday, Nov. 20th at 2 p.m.
Dining Centers Close: Friday, November 20th at 2 p.m.

Meal plans are included as part of Fall Break & Extended Housing and will remain active for students staying. The Foundry will remain open during this time.

The Foundry Hours of Operation*

Friday, November 20th
7 – 10 a.m., 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., 4 – 7 p.m.

Sat Nov. 21st – Friday Dec. 18th
7:30 – 9 a.m., 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. , 5 – 7 p.m.

Making a reservation before entry will not be required

Parking Over Break

Residents who wish to leave a vehicle parked on campus during this time should contact Parking & Transportation Services at (970) 491-7041 or parking@colostate.edu. More details about parking on campus are available at pts.colostate.edu/parking.

  • Parking regulations are enforced as usual over break
  • Be aware of lots and enforcement www.parking.colostate.edu
  • Long-term parking prohibited on city and campus streets
  • You will be responsible for incurred parking, towing and/or storage fines

Dining Information

Dining Centers Close: Friday, November 22 at 2 p.m.
Dining Centers Open: Sunday, December 1 at 5 p.m.
On-Campus meal plans will be deactivated on Friday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. These will be reactivated Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m.

Friday, November 22: 8 a.m – 7 p.m.
November 23-30: 11:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, December 1: 11 a.m. – 1 a.m.

Leaving for Break

Leaving For Remainder of the Semester:

Clean and vacuum room(s)

Empty trash and recycling

Remove personal items from showers and vanities

Move all items away from radiators

Open radiators and set on low

Set thermostat to 68°F/20°C

Secure windows and close drapes

Turn all lights off

Close and lock doors

Turn in your keys and prox to the front desk

Bicycles may be left in rooms (chained/locked to bed frames)
Padlocks are allowed on lockable drawer/cabinet
Consider securing valuable possessions or take them with you

E-scooters are prohibited inside our buildings and may not be stored inside during break periods because of the fire risk associated with the batteries

Not Returning for Spring 2021 Semester

If you do not register for Fall Break & Extended Housing and do not plan on returning for the spring semester, please follow this link on a desktop computer to complete and submit the Intent for Spring Semester 2021 form no later than November 20 (errors may occur if the link is accessed from a phone or tablet).

  • Residents who do not intend to return will need to completely move and check out of the residence halls by Saturday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. Keys must be turned in at the hall desk prior to departure.
  • Dining plans will be deactivated on Nov. 20, at 2 p.m.
  • Vacate procedures can be found at housing.colostate.edu/halls/vacate-procedures/.
  • Residents who learn after departure in November that they will not be returning to the halls for the spring semester must contact the University Housing office for details on move-out options between Nov. 21-Jan. 13.
