WHICH RESIDENCE HALL SHOULD YOU LIVE IN?

Allison Hall

Are you a business or engineering major? Do you want to be ridiculously close to all of your classes? Do you love soup? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Allison is the hall for you! You’re a person who likes to be close to all the action and you enjoy being able to weave culture and community into your everyday life. In the literal backyard of the College of Business, Allison is the closest hall to the Oval and Engineering department, which makes its location perfect for anyone who wants to be out the door and in class in minutes. Allison’s proximity to Old Town makes it a great home-base for anyone wanting to explore Fort Collins’ many galleries, restaurants and coffee shops. Allison is also the home of Spoons a Fort Collins’ favorite that serves homemade soups and salads and a popular continental breakfast in the morning.
LV - Alpine Hall

You’re modern, mature, laid back and progressive - and it’s also possible that you love bikes and have an appreciation for international cuisine - which means that Alpine Hall just might be the perfect hall for you! Alpine is one of two new residence halls in Laurel Village and is home to the Year 2 @ CSU Residential Learning Community, which makes the community seem just a bit wiser. Next door to Alpine is the Pavilion, a sustainability-focused building that’s home to the campus Eco Leaders and The Spoke, a student-run bike repair and education space. Laurel Village’s central courtyard is also a community gathering spot with a fire pit and stone amphitheater perfect for studying, musical performances or watching outdoor movies. Alpine is also really close to two dining centers Corbett, popular for its themed events, and Durrell, which offers international cuisine ranging from South African bobotie to Korean bulgogi.
AV - Aspen

Welcome to Aspen Hall in Academic Village! Worldly and intellectually curious, you value having time and space to ponder the deeper questions in life. Aspen, with its large returning student population, feels like the older sibling of AV neighbors, Engineering and Honors. LEED Gold certified Aspen, one of the greenest buildings on campus, is home to a state of the art greywater recycling system, solar array and an energy-efficient thermal plant. Nearby Ram’s Horn dining center, with its Mongolian grill and sports grill, gives residents a great place to hang out especially if they love stir-fried noodles or want to enjoy a burger and wings while watching the game.
Braiden Hall

Welcome to Braiden! Helping others and becoming besties with all kinds of people is something that just comes naturally to you, which means that you’ll be right at home in this diverse, close-knit community just steps away from the academic heart of campus. The most defining thing about Braiden - apart from the amazing sushi and Ramwich sandwiches in its in-house dining center - is its Key Communities. Maybe you don’t know exactly what you want to major in - with so many cool things to study at CSU, who can blame you? Maybe you want to learn outside of the classroom in an interactive setting. Or maybe you want to give back to the community through volunteering? In all these cases Key’s focus on interdisciplinary classes, service-learning, and academic exploration will set you up for a fun and successful college experience. In addition to Key, Braiden’s Transfer Community is the perfect place to make friends, get support and put down roots if you’re transferring to CSU from another university.
Corbett Hall

Welcome to Corbett! You’re a social animal and you love being surrounded by a large group of friends. Because Corbett’s the largest hall on campus, you’ll have no trouble finding study buddies, workout partners or groups to go snowboarding with in the winter. Your commitment to health and physical fitness is also very important to you. Because physical activity is an integral part of your daily routine, you’ll be glad to have the Rec, the indoor training facility, Moby Arena, the IM fields and multiple outdoor basketball courts, volleyball courts and slack lines close by. If you’re considering turning your passion for physical fitness into a profession, Corbett’s Health & Exercise Science Residential Learning Community will allow you to develop your interests outside of the lecture hall while surrounding you with people who share you interest in optimizing human body performance. Corbett’s in-house dining center - renowned for its varied, and sometimes amazingly offbeat dinner events - is just steps from your room, so you’ll have no problem hitting target macro consumption to fuel you through all your mental and physical activities!
Durward Hall

Welcome to Durward! You’re ambitious, courageous and a natural leader. As home of SLiCE’s Leadership Development Community - more campus leaders have come out of Durward than out of any other hall at CSU. When you’re not leading through service or nurturing your blossoming political ambitions, you can enjoy some of the best mountain views in Fort Collins from your room in one of the tallest buildings in Fort Collins. Durward’s proximity to the Durrell Center gives you access to tons of study space, a games room and the Durrell dining center which features an international cuisine station, a make-your-own-pasta bar and DX, which serves food late into the night. Additionally, Durward is right next to the Pavilion, a green building that houses a living wall, light-filled study spaces and The Spoke, a student run bike repair and education center.
Edwards Hall

Welcome to Edwards! You’re well-rounded with a wide range of academic and extracurricular interests that might very well include a love for sports and athletics. You somehow manage to balance your laid back attitude while still excelling in the classroom. Your healthy work-life balance, natural curiosity and keen observational skills mean that you enjoy making interdisciplinary connections outside of the classroom, making you a perfect candidate for Edward’s Honors or Engineering Residential Learning Communities. Additionally. Engineering’s uncluttered, modern design, along with its multimedia classrooms and study spaces, will give you all the space you need to focus so you can put your best ideas to work!
AV - Honors

Welcome to Honors in Academic Village - CSU's very own Ravenclaw! An academic at heart, you enjoy stimulating conversations and making interdisciplinary connections both in and outside of the classroom. Maybe you're also an athlete or a writer or an artist, but for you, acquiring knowledge and developing your intellectual capabilities in new and exciting ways helps you excel in all aspects of your life and extracurricular pursuits. The Honors Residential Learning Community will help you in your constant quest for knowledge by surrounding you with students with similar academic goals and by integrating experiential learning into your living area with programming space, seminar rooms, multi-media classrooms and more.
200 Hall

Welcome to 200 Hall! This building features bright, modern community spaces, in a convenient location on the southwest corner of campus. 200 is the perfect place if you want quick access to nearby café’s and shops, close proximity to athletic fields, plus the discounted parking lot is ideal if you’re bringing a vehicle. 200 is open for general assignments, so it’s a great option for those not interested in joining a Residential Learning Community or those who are still exploring majors.
Newsom Hall

Welcome to Newsom Hall, one of the chillest places to live at CSU. You’re pretty laid back but love to stay active which means you’ll make great use of Newsom’s proximity to the IM fields, where you’ll be just steps away from the practice spots of over two dozen intramural sports teams and programs. You have a wide range of interests and value a work-life balance. You want to spend your time at university discovering new academic and extracurriculars to get involved in, which makes Newsom a perfect home base for creative, intellectual and athletic exploration as it’s super close to the Department of Art, the Rec, and the Morgan Library. Food-wise, Newsom is close to two different dining centers: Braiden Dining Center known for its sushi and RAMwich and Ram’s Horn which is famous for its Mongolian Grill and homemade BBQ.
Parmelee Hall

Welcome to Summit! You’re a fearless adventurer who loves to make friends with all kinds of people while still marching to the beat of your own drum. If one thing unites Summit’s eclectic mix of residents - whether they're living in the All Gender and Open Housing community, the Living Substance Free community, or in Warner College’s Natural Resources, Sustainability or Outdoor Leadership Residential Learning Communities - it’s a strong sense of self and moral compass. Regardless of whether you’re an alpine mountaineer, sustainability warrior or someone committed to making healthy choices at university, Summit is a great place to ‘do you’, especially if ‘doing you’ involves going carbon neutral, multi-pitch ascents or wilderness survival in the Rockies!
Westfall Hall

Welcome to Westfall! You’re a loyal adventurer at heart and you love being surrounded by a diverse group of friends. Trying new things and having adventures are both very important to you - it’s likely that Fort Collins' proximity to Colorado’s back country is a huge draw for you. Westfall’s diverse student population, which include residents in an International themed living community and a Living Substance Free community, will allow you to make friends from all over the world who have diverse beliefs and come from a wide range of backgrounds. When you’re not learning Portuguese or Mandarin slang from your new bezzies, you can enjoy sweeping views of campus and Rocky Mountain sunsets from your room in one of the tallest buildings in Fort Collins.
