Post-Doc, Visiting Scholars, & Staff

Housing for Post-Doctoral Fellows, Visiting Scholars, Faculty, and Staff is offered in the University Apartments under limited circumstances and restrictions apply. Questions should be referred to University Housing at housing@colostate.edu or 970-491-4719. 

Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars

Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars may apply for housing in the University Apartments. Apartment assignments are provided on a first come, first served basis as space becomes available. Due to the limited availability of University Apartments, Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars are encouraged to apply early and to investigate other housing options off-campus. 

Housing in the University Apartments is only offered for Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars while they are employed by the University. Additionally, housing for Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars is offered for a maximum of 3 years, and Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars must vacate their assigned apartment at the end of the 3-year period. All Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars are required to vacate their assigned apartment when their University employment ends.  

To access the apartment application, Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars must have an active NetID. Once their NetID is activated, they can access the apartment application via the Housing Portal. Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars should contact their sponsoring department for more information about NetID activation.  

As a part of the application process, Post-Doctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars must submit a letter from their sponsoring department (on department letterhead) to verify their University employment. DS2019 forms will not be accepted as valid employment documentation. This letter should be uploaded when completing their apartment application.  

Employment documentation should contain the following: 

  • Employee’s Name 
  • Employee’s Position Title 
  • Employee’s Position Type 
  • Employment Eligibility Start Date 
  • Employment Eligibility End Date 

Full-Time Regular Faculty and Staff

Full-time regular faculty and staff may apply for transitional housing in the University Apartments for a maximum of 6 months. Apartment assignments are provided on a first come, first served basis as space becomes available. Due to the limited availability of University Apartments, incoming faculty and staff are encouraged to apply early and to investigate other housing options off-campus.  

Housing in the University Apartments is only offered for regular faculty and staff for a maximum of 6 months and faculty/staff must vacate their assigned apartment at the end of the 6-month period. 

To access the apartment application, incoming faculty and staff must have an active NetID. Once their NetID is activated, they can access the apartment application via the Housing Portal. Faculty and staff should contact their sponsoring department for more information about NetID activation.
