Ombudsman Office at CSU

The Office of the Ombuds recognizes the last few weeks have created extreme disruption in your personal and professional lives. As a voluntary, confidential, informal and impartial office, we are here to assist and support you. We are a non-judgmental, listening ear and will work to identify solutions to your workplace concerns. To schedule an appointment with Melissa Emerson, Ombuds director visit our website.

Employees can call this number for crisis services and to get referrals for counseling. Each employee gets 6 free sessions of counseling per person in his/her family, per issue, per year. Compsych will give employees a list of licensed professionals to contact in the community to set up services. If the employee is having difficulty getting a counseling appointment set up within 2 weeks, please call the CSU on-site coordinator to set up support.

The CSU Housing Navigator has compiled a list of new and existing housing related resources, information and community responses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. There have been enhanced efforts to address community needs from many state and local agencies.

Housing and Food Resources

Poudre School District services
PSD will offer free meals to PSD students during the closure on weekdays at specific school locations, using a grab-and-go style system.

Food Bank for Larimer County services
While schools are closed in Larimer County, the Food Bank has established three initial meal sites that will serve grab-and-go lunches beginning Wednesday, March 18. More meal sites will be added in the coming days.

Salvation Army Food Baskets
The Salvation Army in Fort Collins is providing meals for those in need of food assistance. Due to social distancing guidelines to battle the spread of coronavirus, the Salvation Army has a drive-up/walk-up window to provide breakfast, lunch and food baskets. The meals are available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at the location at 3901 S. Mason St. in Fort Collins

Tax Help Colorado, dedicated volunteers can help Colorado residents by provide free tax filing assistance online to families earning less than about $66,000 a year.
